Transpiration

This work draws upon the organic process of transpiration within plants. The sudden changes in tonality and texture represent the different phases of this process; the pacing of the piece implies its seemingly static nature. This piece was commissioned by The Firm concert series and was premiered in 2004 by the Langbein String Quartet.
